Terms of use

These terms are a binding agreement between you and Brent Reilly, a sole proprietor doing business as “ASC News” (“ASC News,” “we,” “us”). By using asc.news or subscribing to the ASC News briefing, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for readers in the United States.

Content and copyright

Everything published by ASC News is copyright © 2026 Brent Reilly d/b/a ASC News unless otherwise noted. You may quote brief excerpts and link to our work with attribution. You may not republish full articles, resell or redistribute our content, or create derivative products from it without our written permission.

Reservation against text and data mining and AI training. We expressly reserve all rights in our content, including the right to control text and data mining and the use of our content to develop, train, or fine-tune any machine learning or artificial intelligence system. No use of our content for those purposes is permitted without our prior written agreement.

Tips, pitches, and submissions

If you send us a tip, pitch, guest analysis, or other submission through our tips page or otherwise:

• You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, edit, and publish your submission in connection with the Service, and you confirm you have the right to share it.
• We verify everything independently before publishing; a tip is a starting point, not a story.
• We will discuss confidentiality and source protection with you before you share anything sensitive, but unless we have agreed otherwise in writing, do not assume a submission is confidential, and do not send material you are not legally permitted to share.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: scrape, crawl, or harvest the Service by automated means except as permitted by our robots.txt; bypass or interfere with any access controls; probe, scan, or test the security of the Service; overload or disrupt it; or use it for any unlawful purpose.

Service availability

We provide the Service on an as-available basis and do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Features that depend on third-party providers (for example, email signup) may be temporarily unavailable, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASC NEWS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$100.

Subscriptions

The email briefing is free, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. If we introduce paid products in the future, their terms will be presented to you at purchase.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email hello@asc.news with the subject Copyright and include enough detail to identify the work and the material at issue, and we’ll review it promptly.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these terms or to protect the Service or others.

General

• Governing law and venue. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in Georgia for any dispute.
• Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• Entire agreement. These terms and the privacy policy are the entire agreement between you and ASC News regarding the Service and supersede any prior understandings.
• Assignment. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business.
• Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new “last updated” date. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
