Editorial standards
How ASC News reports, verifies, corrects, and stays independent.
Last updated June 12, 2026
Sourcing and verification
Every factual claim we publish is traceable to a public, primary source: a CMS rule or rate file, a Federal Register notice, a congressional record, an SEC filing, a court docket, a company announcement, or a named report. Where we model or estimate, we say so and show the assumption.
We quote only from public statements — testimony, filings, press releases, earnings calls, on-record interviews — and we attribute and link every quote. We do not publish blind items, composite anecdotes, or unattributed market chatter.
AI-assisted reporting
ASC News is produced with the assistance of AI tools. Drafting, data extraction, and source monitoring are AI-assisted; every published piece is reviewed, verified, and edited by a human editor — Brent Reilly — who is accountable for its accuracy. No quote, statistic, or event is published without a human confirming it against the underlying source.
We believe this is the honest way to run a modern one-newsroom trade publication: disclose the process, keep a named human accountable, and hold every output to the same verification standard regardless of how the first draft was written.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix the story, note the correction at the bottom of the piece, and — for material errors — flag it in the next briefing. Spot an error? Write to us via the contact page.
Independence
Our coverage is not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or investors. Advertising and sponsorship, when present, are clearly labeled and have no input into editorial decisions. We do not accept compensation for coverage, and we do not hold positions in the companies we cover; if that ever changes for a specific story, the conflict will be disclosed in the piece.
What we are not
ASC News is journalism, not advice. Nothing we publish is legal, medical, financial, or investment advice. Decisions about your center, your contracts, or your capital belong with your advisors.
